Comments about GE GE Profile™ 3.5 Cu. Ft. King-Size Capacity Washer with Stainless Steel Basket - WPRB8050D:
I bought one of those expensive, newfangled, energy efficient (water stingy) Whirlpool sets. It was a nightmare. Moldy smelling , lint covered streaked up, wrinkled up clothes that you couldn't hang dry because it took the dryer to get all the lint off. Luckily, [...] took them back. I did my research before I picked new ones. I got a G.E. Profile top load washer and dryer set. I bought a pretty cream colored set and it looks great in my laundry room. It was hundreds of dollars cheaper and it has almost as much load capacity as the other ones but it has an agitator and uses plenty of water. It has enough capacity to wash a king size comforter, even with an agitator. What I learned is, that it takes WATER to get your clothes clean! What you save on water on the others, you spend on higher priced high efficiency detergents anyway. I LOVE my washer and dryer. [...] I've had my set since March of 05, so 2 1/2 years. The speeds are whites, colors, dark colors, easy care, hand wash, casuals, hang dry, quick rinse, drain & spin. The cycles are for load size - super, large, madium, small extra small...Soil level - heavy, medium, light, extra light. Temp. are 105/cold, 70/cold, cold/cold. options are - signal, extra spin, 2nd rinse, pre soak. It is an energy star appliance but it uses plenty of water, which I wanted. I had the Whirlpool set almost a whole year( it was an HE set, water stingy) and there is no noticable difference in energy consumption, but a heck of a lot of difference in the performance. I've seen no negatives with this machine. I didn't mark that it was quiet because some may think it's not but it's not loud either.[...]
