I use this product in my bedroom to decrease humidity levels due to a dust mite allergy. For this purpose it works great, keeping the humidity at or below 36%, but in this somewhat confined room, the dehumidifier increases the temperature of the room making it a bit uncomfortable at times while it is running.

After a thorough search on the internet, different reviews and forums, I pretty much understood the equipment before receiving it. It really removes moisture, it really is noisy, it really can work continously. I haven't received my power bill of this month yet, but I'm unrestfull on the impact. Hope not. After all, it was exactly as expected, 5 stars.

We were very excited to recieve our dehumidifier, especially since our previous one died a long and painfully noisy death. As soon as we got the Whirlpool running we were impressed by the gentle hum (barely noticable). AND it quickly sucked the moisture out of the air. Witin an hour we were back to tolerable moisture levels. It would be a 5-star rating if the settings were more specific. Define "normal", "dry", and "very dry". Perhaps a percentage range would be ideal.

Other dehumidifier's coils would freeze up in the cool basement. This works as advertised. Settings are intuitive.
