The Whispure air purifier, even though it seems large at first, can be tucked away in a corner of the room against a wall. The intake is in the front and the fan blows the air out the top of the unit. We use it on it's medium setting and only when we are home. The fan noise is very faint at this level and seems to clean the air in the 600 sq. foot area.

As for the air quality, I would feel stuffy while having our woodstove going, since using the Whispure, I have not!

I use this continually. I move it from our living room only when I am dusting other rooms. No matter what you use the dust flies around and this unit cleans up the air in a very short amount of time....breathing has never been easier. The dust level in our home is greatly reduced in the room it is most used in, which is prompting me to purchase units so they can be permanently used in other rooms of the house. I highly recommend this unit to anyone that has concerns with pet dander or dust (my main focus) as it really works and it is quite.

Our master bedroom is 15' by 15' so it's less than half the recommended maximum room size suggested for the unit but after 6 weeks of use the room is a little less dusty, maybe 60% less than before we put the unit into service. The "Sleep" mode is quiet and a great sleep-aid for my wife. I'd say we had higher expectations for the unit after reading other reviewers' comments and because of those I'm not sure the investment in this unit was worthwhile.

Since using the Whirlpool purifier we have noticed significantly less dust on our furnature and fans even when it is on the lower settings. Also, both my husband and I wake up with clear noses instead of the sniffles. The product information states that it can be used in rooms up to 500 sq ft , but we are using it in a 350 sq ft room, so not sure how it would work in a larger room (but it would probably be fine). The first day it did smell a little funky (kind of like an airplane or hospital), but it seemed to go away after the first night.

Our bedroom is larger than average, with high ceilings. We share the room with our two, dog-pound adopted dogs and their oversized dog beds. This air purifier has worked wonders! You can feel the difference when you walk in there. We keep the door closed at night, with the air purifier running. During the day, the door is open, and the purifier is off. This item is worth the money.
