Similar to other products in the Saniflo line, the Sanicompact provides solutions to big plumbing problems. The Sanicompact 48 is considered the “little brother” to the larger Saniplus system. This once toilet which has a built in macerator in the base is a self contained unit which will fit into restricted spaces where traditional toilets could not be installed.

Know for minimal water consumption, the Sanicompact Toilet uses 1.1 GPF with no need for an external water tank. Completely self contained, this model will allow buyers to install a toilet in spaces otherwise incapable of supporting a toilet and necessary plumping features. This toilet is ideal for individuals with physical limitations and easily installed into locations with limited space.

Customers using the Sanicompact 48 identify the following benefits of the unit: smooth functions, attractive, made of study material, water efficient and a good value. In addition, the Sanicompact can be installed and used effectively in areas where no other toilet would be available.

With no need for an external water tank, the Sanicompact uses a built in flushing mechanism which is completely electronic. At the push of a button water is released into the bowl, washing away waste into the built in macerator where it is then pumped away. Within 15 seconds the flushing process is over and the bowl is filled with fresh water for the next use.

No external water tank as the flushing mechanism is built in and is totally electric. One press of pneumatic button on top of the bowl, this activates a timer and a solenoid valve in order to fill and wash the sides of the bowl. The motor starts and the waste and paper are sucked inside, where it is macerated and pumped away. The motor stops after approximately 15 seconds and the timer programs the refill of the bowl with fresh water
The discharge pipe of the Sanicompact is 1" in diameter, the pump operates at 7 PSI and pumps the effluent upwards to 9 feet and / or 100 feet horizontally. The discharge pipe - work may be made with either copper or solvent welded plastic material, provided that a consistent gravity fall of 2% is maintained throughout the run
At the soil - stack end of the pipe run the small - bore pipe - work must be connected to the waste by means of an appropriate TY fitting. Electrical supply to the Sanicompact is 120V, 15 Amp. The system should be connected to a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter circuit

Very nice product so far.
Instructions are not great, but the system is well designed and installation is pretty self explainitory. Seems to handle anytihng you can throw at it :)

Installed this toilet about a month ago and has worked well
I now have a toilet in the basement where the bar and home theater are located no more running upstairs
Instructions could be better I had no problem installing the toilet seat it installed
From the top they must have changed the design due the the number of complaints they were getting

Terrible directions. Some ambiguous steps that conflict with previous statements, especially between some online directions and directions included with product.
No seat installation instructions. Seat had small bubble/chipped paint. Had to use the off-center locations in the seat brackets because the holes in the porcelain were so out of whack. Use locktite on the seat studs and crank them in. Install seat before final setting in.
Screws that go thru toilet wall into floor brackets are too long. Screw them in to form threads in bracket, then out and cut 1/4" off and file/grind flush so they don't go into side of pump sump.
Pay attention to waste line shutoff valve recommendation. I added a union to the sink line so it's easier to pull out in the future.
I was nervous about the supply line and cutting off the metric nut per some other reviews, but it was already done as shipped. Push the nipple all the way into a 3/8" shutoff valve and crank down slowly but firmly and the ferrule will grip it well without leaks.
Cutting the endcap off the molded nipple for the sink drain was scary as far as clamp engagement. It could be molded longer. Worked out OK. (What about all those chips in the macerator?)
The sink and waste connections are clamped to very flexible rubber extensions - the pvc pipe you install must be supported well.
Still - compared to competitors products (huge plastic "throne" or a hole in the basement floor or a barrel in the basement) this one is great. Works as advertised after installation.
Despite poor instructions, I would recommend it. Take time to plan the installation and plumbing and you'll be OK.

Service and delivery comments:

Delivered via FedEX - no "Yellow Delivery" problems as in other reviews. Did not provide estimated arrival time at checkout. Large box, but product was well packed inside in its own shipping container - good job.

The plumber I hired suggested a choice of two up flush toilets he had been recommending for years. I wasn't happy with those choices so I explored further. I am so glad I did. This toilet takes up a lot less space, is much better looking and is a breeze to clean compared to any other up flush toilet I have seen anywhere.

Fairly easy to install for a part time remodel guy. Installing the seat was difficult "after" installing the toilet. Very hard to get your fingers up inside the area where the plumbing and wiring is.Awesome anchoring system...design was very well thought out[...]product quality were better than promised! Great company!This toilet will be used sparingly as a second bath, but its' compactness was a real plus.
