After reading other reviews I was surprised at how quiet the pump is. I expected it to be rather noisy, but it isn't that bad at all. Even with the pumping noise, it is VERY quick! The pump action is done within seconds, the toilet tank is still filling up when the pumping action is complete. Therefore, you hear the noise of the tank filling up longer than the pump. It sort of "masks" the sound of the pump. The toilet is the best flushing toilet I've ever owned. It sure beats those low flow "enviro" toilets that cause you to flush 3 times more just to flush the toilet. Sorry, but enviro-toilets don't save water, they use more in the long run. I don't think I'll ever need a plunger for this one. The SaniFlush system is very fast, and simple to hook up. Total time is 2 to 3 hours maximum if you have the plumbing in place. Only a minor leak at first, but a simple tightening of the clamp did the trick. My only complaint is that the pump is made of a lot of plastic, but that's everything these days. Construction of the pump seems solid. Overall a GOOD purchase for below grade applications. We LOVE our new downstairs bathroom. No more racing upstairs when you really gotta go!
