This piece is very expensive for what it is, but is required to match the finish and quality of the other Hansgrohe product you need this for. Also, the instructions with this extension pipe show how to properly install the safety collar for the showerhead, which is not mentioned in the directions for the shower head - which includes the actual safety collar. WIthout it, it will leak.

This piece is needed for the Hansgrohe Thermostatic Trim with Volume Control. It is a very sturdy design and made from quality materials, but it is slightly tricky to install. It states in the instructions not to solder too close to the unit. It manages to maintain a very tight seal with teflon tape due to a uniqe serrated thread design. It is a very high quality unit.

This piece is critical for installing a Hansgrohe overhead shower head. The instuctions also include the missing step from the shower head - that the safety sleeve needs to be installed over the shower head mount - which also prevents leaking. Woldn't have been a problem except the sleeve was hidden in the shower head's box.

For an extension pipe, it is pretty pricey, but necessary. It looks great with the same color shower head. Also, the directions for this pipe includes directions to install the safety sleeve for the shower head that is absent in the shower head instructions. An absolutely critical piece because without it, water will spray from the side of the mounting piece.

can be used in conjunction with other extension rods for more drop. I was installing a 11" overhead rainshower in a 1Oft ceiling shower this rod plus another 12 inch one brought the shower head down so that the rainshower had a stronger washdown effect( up too high rain effect gets too soft/disperses water from wider angle) can be attached from celing or joined to another rod at shower head or ceiling end by turning it around.

needed to lower a rainshower head from a 10ft ceiling 15inch rods did not do th errick as rainshower water falls too weakly from a higher height so this additional pipe attched to the ceiling shower arm did the trick.
