This innovative technology combines the responsiveness of a gas cooktop with the peace of mind of a cooler cooking surface.cooking uses a high - frequency induction coil below the cooktop's smooth surface that heats the cookware by a magnetic field. Induction cooking is the only cooking method that directly uses the cookware as a part of the cooking system, and only heats the area of the element that comes into contact with the pan.

    Comments about GE Profile 36" Electric Induction Cooktop:

    I replaced a GE ceramic cooktop with this induction model. Having used countertop induction cookers (Viking and Burton 110v), I was prepared for some cooling fan noise and "pulsed" heating. There is a faint hum and no fan noise. The GE has 19 settings (vs 10), heating areas are larger (the countertop models are 5-inch induction rings) with more amps and as a result heats the food beautifully. Choose the appropriate burner size and the entire bottom of your pan/pot will heat up. The size of this unit is perfect for 36" cabinets. Other manufacturers require more cutout room for the actual mechanics. It's one impressive and responsive cooktop.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      Hi I was wondering if this is CSA approved. I know you can buy this exact model in Canada just not sure if it comes from the USA if it's still stamped. ?

        The GE in Canada already took care of all the certifications if purchased in Canada. If your looking to purchase from the US to ship to Canada the GE in the US wouldn't do the CSA certification.
