This product is very nice to have in the bottom of our kitchen sink. Following our "lessons learned" with our initial Vision grid, we are now very careful not to place any cooking utensils, like pots, pans, plates, etc, that are hot enough to melt a thin plastic coating, on the grid. We also do not place anything with a sharp edge, like knives, on the grid, so to minimize the chance of damaging or cutting through the plastic coating on the SS grid. We do not find that these precautions in any way hinder our kitchen operation.

The chrome-finish grid drain fits perfectly in my Franke sink bowl. I like the fact it sits about an inch off the bottom so the sink is protected from scratching and food particles can be easily rinsed down the sink drain. The grid drain "cut out" is ideally located so you do not have to remove the drain to remove the sink stopper. I am concerned, however, about the life of the rubberized plastic caps that fit over the feet of the drain and whether they can hold-up to years of repeated submersion in soapy/grimy water.
