Not only is it an economical choice for delivering heat, but it's easy to install.

The Empire Comfort Systems 35,000 BTU Direct Vent Wall Furnace can heat a large room at the fraction of the cost of installing electric heat. It fits against an outside wall, and pulls air from the outside. You can operate the wall thermostat without the need for electricity, and start up the furnace with the push of a button to ignite the pilot – no match required – making it safer to operate than a furnace pilot that requires lighting with fire. The Empire Comfort Systems 35,000 BTU Direct Vent Wall Furnace is made in the USA.

      I like that on low, it stops the pipes from freezing at 45 or so. Other heaters (Rennai) has a low of 60. No need to burn fuel to keep a vaca cabin at 60 all winter. In about an hour, the temp goes from 45 to 60 or more. If you put wet items on a drying rack near the blower, they dry! My kids used to curl up on the rug under the blower and fall asleep. Con - not so adorable to look at.

            Overall I was very satisfied with the product, it performed without fail for 5 years. Then the thermo coupler gave out and I replaced it one year ago. Now I just tried to fire it up for this season and again it appears the coupler is not functioning. And this unit requires the wired coupler rather than the one with a tube, making it very expensive. [...]Actually the unit I have is the 25,000 BTU one, which you don't appear to offer anymore.

              Can or should this unit be vented through a standard chimney . . .mine is vented into an 8 inch chimney and it seems all my heat is going up the chimney.

                According to the installation instructions from the manufacturer, yes it was improperly installed. The vent air inlet should be 6 inches diameter, and the vent outlet should be 4 inches diameter. Please contact a trained and licensed HVAC professional to assess how to best correct this issue.
