      The wall control has to be hard-wired; the handheld takes a 9-volt battery.

    I have successfully installed the Savoy House Wall Switch- model
    WLC700. Everything working perfectly.
    My question: Can I buy just a handheld remote to work with this equipment.....I do not want to purchase another receiver unit to go in the canopy. Customer wants to be able to turn the fan off in the middle of the night without leaving the bed !!

      The remote communicates with the fan by way of the receiver, which is installed in the mounting bracket of the fan.
