How To Replace A Smoke Alarm



A smoke detector is a must for all homes. They’re inexpensive, have saved thousands of lives and are very easy to install.

Tools needed:
Drill with 3/16” drill bit
Flathead screwdriver
Eye protection
Pencil

Materials:
Smoke detector kit

Step By Step:

Step 1 – Choose the location to install the smoke detector. It should be high on the    
wall or on the ceiling and away from windows and exterior doors.
Step 2 – Hold the mounting bracket in position and using the pencil, mark the screw
holes.
Step 3 – Drillshallow screw holes using a 3/16” bit.
Step 4 – Attach the mounting bracket using the supplied screws.
Step 5 – Snap the smoke detector in place.
Step 6 – Test the battery

This works! I did it last night! Good thing I had an extra 9V battery. I used this 9V battery that was next to my bedroom TV - it's been there for almost a year. I knew eventually it would come in handy. Thanks for the tips.
