How to Replace a Doorknob and Lockset

Easily replace a worn doorknob or update your existing one for a fresh, new look.

Tools needed:
Phillips head screwdriver

Materials:
Replacement doorknob or lockset

Step By Step:

Step 1 – Remove the two Phillips head screws on one side of the knob and the knob 
will come apart.
Step 2 – Remove the knobs from both sides of the door.
Step 3 – Remove the latch bolt by removing the two screws on the edge of the door.
Step 4 – Insert the new latch bolt being sure that it faces in the same direction as the
old one.
Step 5 – Secure with the two new screws supplied being sure not to over-tighten.
Step 6 – Insert the new knobs or lockset being sure the key slot is on the outside and
oriented up and down.
Step 7 -  Secure with the two new screws supplied.
Step 8 – Check to be sure that it is operating properly.
