How to Hang a Mirror

Mirrors are the perfect room accessory. They are decorative, functional and come in a large variety of styles and sizes.

Tools needed:
Tape measure
Carpenter’s level
Screwdriver
Pencil
An awl or nail

Materials:
Hooks with anchoring screws designed for drywall

Step By Step:

Step 1 – Hold the wire taut and measure the distance from the wire to the top of the
frame. If using two hooks, hold the wire taut in the two places where you will
be hanging the picture on the hooks and then measure the distance from the
middle of the taut wire to the top of the picture.
Step 2 – Hold the mirror against the wall at the desired height and make a light mark on
the wall above the center of the frame.
Step 3 -  To center the mirror between two objects, measure the distance between the
two, divide in half and make a mark on the wall.
Step 4 – Using a level, draw a vertical line from the center mark to the mark you made
at the top of the frame.
Step 5 – Measure down the distance from the top of the frame to the wire and make
another mark.
Step 6 – Measure 4 inches to either side of the center mark along the “wire” line and
mark those two spots  That is where the anchors will go.
Step 7 – Mark where the anchors will go by making small indentions with the tip of
the screw.
Step 8 – Start the screw hole using an awl or nail.
Step 9 – Screw the hooks into the wall.
Step 10 – Hang the mirror on the hooks.
