Perfect for my dining room to hold my collection of fancy salt & pepper shakers. These shelves will hold more weight than that, but I would not use them as bookcases. Some books would be ok. I love the deep brown wood color. Looks great with my dining set. The flaws are not noticeable except up close. Some of them are hidden behind the shelves. Types of flaws are some discoloration and a few scratches. To me, they do not detract from the overall look and quality.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      I ordered it in Medium color but it is actually really Red. Way more red than my cherry furniture. Wish I had ordered it in Dark. I decided it was too tall so took out one of the shelves. Easy to adjust and a perfect solution to the problem.
