The grill gets very hot so you get a great sear. Have discovered a hot spot after multiple uses. Ignitor was defective, company sent a replacement in a week, very nice to deal with. Easy to set up.
Handles could be better insulated and the cover design on the side burner is very poor as it conflicts with the right side lid handle.

We suffered with a Ducane that we paid $1500 for before they went bankrupt. That [*] never got to 500 degrees! For one fourth the price, this bbq runs circles around that Ducane. It is fantastic.We have used our Broil King 6 times so far and it heats up in no time. Starts first time..every time. Let it pre-heat 6-7 minutes and it's at 600 degrees. Brilliant searing. Great taste. And, it's not made in China like its competitor's (Weber) lower priced bbqs. Broil King is made in Canada. If you want a reasonably priced bbq, this is the one I'd highly recommend. I did lots of research before I made this selection. I also was fortunate to get some help from a woman who used to sell bbqs in California. She said in this ($400) price range..Go for Broil King. She was right on the $$.
