As kids, many of us couldn't stop gazing at the wonderful doll houses displayed in museums and galleries. Part of growing up is switching fascination to miniatures of cars, buildings, ships and planes. It's not just architects interested in the the science of construction. Michelangelo and Da Vinci created scale models of the dome buildings they designed for their royal and papal patrons. And a half dome allows one to view the intricacies and beauty of a model from both the inside and outside. Beautifully finished in glowing French honey. A pièce de résistance!
