Architectural Mailboxes Oasis Jr. Mailbox

The Oasis Jr.is the solution for mail and small parcel security. Approved by the US Postmaster General, this high capacity locking curbside mailbox incorporates a large hopper door that allows delivery of mail bundles and small parcels making it perfect for catalog and internet shoppers. The body is constructed of heavy 16 and 14 gauge galvanized steel fully powder coated prior to assembly for durability and long life. The incoming hopper and mail retrieval doors include rubber seals to keep deliveries clean and dry. All hardware is made from stainless steel and other corrosion resistant materials. The box is suitable for installation into a pilaster, column or wall the entire outer shroud is one piece to resist moisture and the elements. Installation instructions are included. A matching in ground or surface mount post sold separately. The stainless steel cam lock comes with two keys.

This is an excellent, well-made mailbox. Its sturdy metal, welded design assures that it will last for a long time as well as keeping your mail protected from the weather. The secure mail slot and locked holding receptacle allow access only to you, protecting you from identity theft and loss of valuable deliveries. The only downside I can see is that it does not have access from the rear, which would keep you away from the road. This is just a minor "flaw" on an otherwise very good product.

The Oasis jr. is larger than I thought. I had considered the basic Oasis. Now I know The "Junior will handle all mail. Anything that won't fit inside clearly needs to be delivered to your door by the USPS. This box was purchased to stop mail theft and vandalism. I believe it will meet these expectations. Built of solid steel, I found it a little difficult to drill holes into it. There are plenty of pre=drilled holes for standard attachment to a post. I decided to attach my Oasis Jr. to the post sideways; so that the post upright is on the right side of the box. The upright protects the mailbox from being struck by baseball bat wielding vandals. I drilled holes in the right side of the box to bolt it to the upright, and used pre-drilled holes in the bottom to bolt to the shelf. The post is set in concrete. This is an extremely secure mailbox set up for your everyday thief or vandal. A very good deterrent.My mail carrier likes it.
