Comments about Ambient Technologies Digital Wireless Wall On/Off/Timer Remote Control:

Between the ability of having the manual on/off switch at the receiver, the childproof lockout on the remote and the internal switch for the man/t1/t2 functions, this timer switch has all the features I needed except for fan control (I opted for a separate thermo-disc conrol for my fan coupled with a 4-speed slider switch, as the fan really does not need a remote in our house).
This product could only be rated 'perfect' if it never fails (or at least lasts 6 or more years), so take the rating as a vote of confidence.
As for the batteries, just make sure you have AAs & AAAs, as I wouldn't recommend using the ones provided with the unit (hint, hint, manufacturer...this unit is worth another couple of bucks from me for Energizer batteries...).
